Join us for our Summer Reading programs!

The Summer Reading Program is set to commence with a kickoff event on June 16 at noon, featuring a “Messy Outdoor Art” theme. This engaging event will offer various art stations for children to create messy art pieces, some of which will be displayed in the Summer Reading Exhibition on the Mezzanine. We welcome volunteers to assist in supervising these art stations.

Youth Weekly Programs will run from Monday to Friday, including:

  • Snacks and a Story: From 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM, children can enjoy a light snack while listening to a fun story, thanks to sponsorship by The Food Group.
  • Tuesdays:
    • Story Time from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM.
    • Crafty Corner from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM for ages 5-10, where kids can engage in creative projects at their own pace.
  • Wednesdays:
    • Craft Club for Teens from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM for ages 12 and up, offering fun activities tailored for teenagers.
  • Thursdays:
    • Story Time from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM.
    • School-Age Story & Craft from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, providing a themed story with a guided craft session.
  • Fridays:
    • Free Build Fridays from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM, encouraging open play and exploration with various materials for all ages.

Joint Adult & Youth Weekly Programs will take place on Saturdays from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, featuring Crafting Together sessions for children and adults, hosted by Zola and the Children’s Library. Each week will focus on a different craft, including painting, paper embroidery, and more.

Special Programs:

  • Reading Logs: This year, children’s reading logs are designed as coloring books, where each day of reading for 20 minutes or more can be marked by coloring a sketch.
  • YA & Adult Summer Reading Challenge at Fulmer Library from June 16 to August 1, featuring Book Bingo for patrons ages 12 and up. Participants can win a prize basket by completing a line of five reading activities. Stop by the circulation desk to pick up a book bingo card. Once you fill out a line of 5 fun reading activities you will be entered to win the gift basket of your choice. 2 adults and 2 children under 18 will win a prize basket of their choice. Winners will be chosen at the end of summer programming celebration at 12:00 on August 1st, 2025.
  • June Summer Reading Program Mezzanine Exhibition Open to ages 0-12. The Sheridan Fulmer Library will be collecting art work throughout the month of May to display on the Mezzanine during June. Work can be dropped off during regular open hours.

End of Program Celebration: Scheduled for August 1 at noon, this event will feature lawn games, snacks, and a free book giveaway, with contributions from the Friends of the Library. Volunteers are encouraged to assist with decorations, games, and snack stations.

This comprehensive program is designed to foster a love of reading and creativity among participants of all ages.
