Claire York’s Book Club : Redeployment

Wars have been examined through many points of view, over time, from the soldiers on the battlefields to the story of nations and their citizens. This series will look at war through voices on the periphery, behind the scenes, such as the voices of those who try to support and understand a soldier’s experience (Redeployment), the children of spies (Warlight), the impact of colonialism on those invaded, often pawns (The Quiet American), and a war here at home where a nation was redefined, as told by James in a re-imagining of the “Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” (James).
